Mahsa Ghaffari (Teacher)

Mahsa moved to Marin County in 2008. She has more than 20 years experience in management and has MS in public relationship from Iran. She currently works as a program analyst at Marin Housing Authority in San Rafael. Mahsa is passionate about working with kids and has been teaching at Shadi Kids for the past seven years. In her free time, she loves to watch soccer, movie, walk by the bay, and picnic with friends. She also loves to travel and visit her friends and family around the world as much as she can.

Tannaz Rahimipour (Teacher)

Tannaz was born and raised in the US and currently works in the lending industry for a Credit Union. She enjoys working with children, and has previously volunteered at COTS in Petaluma, and Homeward Bound Marin in Novato. In her free time she enjoys going to concerts, sporting games and also loves wine tasting. Tannaz also love traveling when she can.

Sanaz Boroujerdian (Music Teacher)

Sanaz was born and raised in Iran. Sanaz moved to California in 2022 and lives in San Francisco with her husband. Sanaz is an experienced music teachers as she has been teaching music to children ages 3-11 for more than 16 years. She has a bachelor of music degree in Taar performance from the faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Tehran. Sanaz completed her Orff teaching certificate with the SF International Orff. She is a trained Tar player and singer and has performed with various groups such as the Tehran Youth Orchestra, Women’s Chakavak, Chakavak Azad, and the University of Tehran Choir. She enjoys hiking, camping, and spending time in nature in her free time. 

Sahar Afshar (Teacher)

Sahar was born in Tehran, Iran. Thirteen years ago, she moved to the United States to perform as a Tanbour player with the “Shams” music ensemble in several concerts. Thanks to her musical talent, she later became one of the ensemble’s professional Tanbour players and participated in numerous concerts in both Iran and the United States. While studying nursing, Sahar volunteered at Golestan Kids School, where, after two months, she became a preschool teacher. She has over ten years of diverse experience working with infants, toddlers, children, and the elderly. Currently, she is in the process of opening her own home daycare.

 

Goli Mohebbi (Teacher)

Goli is a dedicated professional with a diverse background in Laboratory Science, Ayurvedic Medicine, and Traditional Persian Medicine, specializing in therapeutic herbs. She is skilled in Raymedy, a system that combines traditional Chinese energy pathways with modern technology to treat energy imbalances. Committed to holistic health, she addresses physical, immunological, and mental dysfunctions. Passionate about working with children, Goli moved from Iran to the U.S. two years ago and has been teaching at Golestan School, where she nurtures young minds.

 

Tina  Sarabandi (Teacher)

 

Tina was born in Tehran, Iran. She earned her B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Tehran in 1997 and worked there for a few years. In 2000, she moved to the U.S. to pursue further education. Tina received her M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 2005. She later transitioned into Early Childhood Education, continuing her studies at the College of Marin. She holds an M.S. in Early Childhood Education from San Francisco State University and has worked in this field since.

  

 

Michka Delavarian (Director)

Michka is an experienced teacher from Iran. Her passion is working with children and she loves being immersed in their world. A dream came true for Michka when she was given the opportunity to take over the management of Shadi Kids so that she could create a nurturing, creative, and joyful environment for children. Michka has been (and continues to be) a full time teacher at Golestan Kids in Berkeley since 2012. Prior to coming to Golestan, Michka was a first grade teacher in Iran after earning a degree in psychology. She is very passionate about art therapy and childhood education, and is determined to expand her knowledge in this field.
